I am Chester.

I'm a co-founder of and principal engineer at Opaque Systems, a venture-backed early-stage startup powering secure analytics and machine learning on data nobody can see. If you share our vision of a privacy-centric future that doesn't interfere with existing business processes and workloads, and would enjoy building something that enables computation on confidential data, please reach out.

Previously, I received my graduate and undergraduate degrees in computer science from UC Berkeley, where I was advised by Professor Raluca Ada Popa in the RISE Lab. My research focused on leveraging hardware enclaves to build secure systems for analytics and machine learning in untrusted environments. I've also spent time at Facebook, where I worked on improving the quality of ads delivered to users.

Outside of work I enjoy playing volleyball, and am an avid Warriors and Giants fan.
